HISTORY FLASHBACK: Flood of 1925

Hurricane Michael took an unusually large toll on Chattahoochee, but the riverside town is no stranger to natural disasters. In this 1925 photograph from the Florida State Archives, the usually tranquil black water of the Appalachicola River – swollen beyond its banks by weeks of heavy rains – engulfing downtown.
