History Flashback: early 1900s

The State Archives of Florida identifies this early 20th century photo as a depiction of the “Gadsden County State Bank” in Chattahoochee. It’s unclear whether “Gadsden County State Bank” was confused with “Quincy State Bank,” which operated in Chattahoochee from 1893 and was once housed in the Signature Clothiers building at 22 E. Washington Street. An internet search of “Gadsden County State Bank Chattahoochee” yielded no concrete hits, so we are left to speculate. Do you recognize this stately building interior or the man and woman pictured therein? Share your knowledge at editor@prioritynews.net. We’d love to know more about this moment in Chattahoochee/Gadsden County history, captured on film.
