The Gadsden Arts Center and Museum will open its highly anticipated 36th Annual Art in Gadsden
Juried Exhibition on Friday, June 7, with the special Flash Sale beginning at 10 a.m., and the
opening celebration starts at 5 p.m. This year’s exhibition represents three and a half decades
of celebrating the creative talent in our region, and features returning and new artists alike
through 100 works of art by 76 artists.
Gadsden Arts extends special thanks to the individuals and sponsors who make the Art in Gadsden
exhibition and a host of programs and events possible – including our Impact Fund donors, and
sponsors Thomas Howell Ferguson P.A., Doug Croley Insurance Services, Iron Oak Financial, Lines
Hinson and Lines, and Full Earth Farm.
Join Gadsden Arts for the opening celebration and talk to the artists on Friday, June 7. Doors open at 5 p.m.
with live music and refreshments, and the awards ceremony will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. admission is free for children and museum members, and $5 for nonmember adults.
Erin Wolfe Bell, the new Director at the Thomasville Center for the Arts, will select award- winning works of art this year. Wolfe Bell brings to our region a wealth of cultural experience from the Naples Botanical Garden, History of Diving Museum, and the Wolfsonian.
As a special feature, you can also purchase your favorite work of art during the first two days of the show. Your purchases support the artists and Gadsden Arts alike, and the Art in Gadsden
Flash Sale is open all day Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8.
You can also enjoy Art in Gadsden all summer with a variety of events! At our June 27 Dine and Discover Luncheon, Ashley Williams, urator and Grace Robinson, Executive Director will share some of the Best of Show award winners from the 36-year history of the exhibition. On July 27, talk with artists in their own creative spaces during the Artist’s Studio Tours, featuring Mark Georgiades, Dean Gioia, Terry Hawkins, William Hugh McKeown, Eluster Richardson, and Fred Sanguiliano.
In August, learn art-making techniques with two of the region’s leading artists, Eluster Richardson and Joe Roache, through workshops at Gadsden Arts! The luncheon, Artist’s Studio Visits, and workshops require registration. Visit https://gadsdenarts.org/featured-events/ for more information.
The Gadsden Arts Center & Museum is located in Downtown Quincy. Public hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Admission is free for all museum members, children ages 17 and under, families on Saturdays, and children’s groups, and $5 for adult non-members.
