The Crossroad Academy boys basketball team was honored Friday afternoon during a community celebration at the Gadsden County Courthouse Square following the team’s state championship victory.
The event, held from 4 to 8 p.m., featured music, food, games and a recognition ceremony celebrating the team’s achievement. Community members gathered downtown to recognize the program after it secured the first state title in school history.
The team, led by head coach Brandon Shingles, captured the championship last month with an overtime win against Williston in the FHSAA Rural boys basketball state title game.
Players and coaches were recognized during the ceremony, which was attended by officials from the City of Quincy and Gadsden County.
