Ms. Annie Lewis, 78, of Greensboro, Florida, transitioned Friday, July 10, 2026, in Tallahassee.
She worked 39 years in education in the Gadsden County school system as a physical education instructor, dean and assistant principal. Her places of employment included Carter Parramore Middle School, James A. Shanks Middle School, West Gadsden High School and Greensboro High School.
Along with her career as an educator, she devoted service as a Citizen on Patrol (C.O.P.) with the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2026, at Evans Funeral Home, 110 S. Ninth St., Quincy.
A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Pine Bloom M.B. Church in Greensboro.
Survivors include her sister, Nettie Locke; brother, Earnest Gunn, of Greensboro, Florida; brother, Henry James Gunn Sr. (Jeanne), of Quincy, Florida; and nephews Henry J. Gunn Jr., Al Murice Gunn, Hyman Amos, Carlton Salters and Robert Earl McNealy.
Services are entrusted to Evans Funeral Home.
