Gadsden County News ServiceSeveral leadership changes are underway in Gadsden County schools following the reassignment of multiple principals, Superintendent Elijah Key confirmed.
Among those reassigned are Gadsden County High School Principal Marlon Ball and West Gadsden Middle School Principal Cheryl Moody. The district has cited the moves as personnel matters and said it cannot disclose specific reasons or details about the new assignments at this time.
Stewart Street Elementary School Principal Pamela Jones will take over as principal at Gadsden County High School. With Jones’ move, Stewart Street’s assistant principal, Chris Germany, will step into the role of principal at Stewart Street Elementary.
Pamela Anderson, principal of Gadsden Elementary Magnet School (GEMS), will serve as principal at West Gadsden Middle School, which also houses GEMS.
Superintendent Key said several principals across the district were reassigned but emphasized that he could not discuss the reasons behind the decisions.
“All of the affected principals were notified on Monday, Dec. 22, that they would be reassigned,” Key said.
He added that both Moody and Ball were instructed to report to the district office on Monday, Jan. 5, where they will receive their new assignments.
District officials did not indicate whether the leadership changes are temporary or permanent, nor did they provide a timeline for additional announcements.
