A brick stairway leads up to the covered porch of a commercial storefront business featuring a bright red door and decorative signs reading 'ART' and 'FURNITURE.' In the foreground, a planter filled with pink and white flowers sits next to a green lawn sign that reads 'Havana Garden Club Yard of the Month (Commercial).'

The Havana Garden Club has selected its June Yard of the Month winners, recognizing one residential property and one commercial business for their landscaping efforts and curb appeal.

The residential Yard of the Month honors the home of Cecelia and Bruce Moore at 509 Third St. N.E. The property features colorful flower beds and blooming plants throughout the yard. According to the Garden Club, Bruce Moore is responsible for maintaining the landscape and takes pride in keeping the property in top condition.

In addition to caring for his own yard while working a full-time job, Moore also helps maintain several other yards in his neighborhood. Garden Club members praised the couple’s well-kept property and extended congratulations on the recognition.

The commercial Yard of the Month award was presented to Weezie’s Cottage, located at 201 N.W. First St. The shop is owned by Louise and Jim Heidenreich.

Garden Club members highlighted the colorful planters at the entrance, which are filled with red and white SunPatiens. The flowers provide a vibrant welcome for customers and visitors and contribute to the business’s attractive appearance.

The Havana Garden Club encourages residents to submit nominations for future Yard of the Month selections. Referrals may be made by calling 850-539-8191.
