The spirit of unity, service, and community empowerment was on full display this past Saturday as the Phirst Phamily Back-to-School Giveaway brought smiles, support, and essential resources to hundreds of families in Chattahoochee.

Hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Tau Theta Omega Chapter under the leadership of President Regina Browning, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Pi Psi Lambda Chapter, led by President Octavius Jackson, the event was a powerful example of collaborative impact.

Held at Chattahoochee Elementary School, the giveaway featured free backpacks, school supplies, health screenings, haircuts, food, music, and family-friendly fun. The event served as a one-stop resource hub, ensuring that local students are equipped, confident, and excited to head back to the classroom.

“Our goal is not just to give supplies, but to create an environment of hope and empowerment,” said President Regina Browning. “We want every child to know they matter and every parent to feel supported.”

President Octavius Jackson added, “This is what Phirst Phamily is about—uplifting our communities through collective service and love.”

Local barbers volunteered their talents, health professionals offered wellness resources, and families enjoyed a festive atmosphere complete with music, games, and food vendors. From toddlers to teens, children left with the tools they need for a successful school year—and wide smiles to match.

As back-to-school season kicks off, this event stands as a testament to what’s possible when organizations unite for a common cause. The Phirst Phamily Back-to-School Giveaway wasn’t just an event—it was a celebration of community, culture, and care.
