The sixth annual Senior Fun Day brought seniors together for a day of fellowship, entertainment and activities at Pat Thomas Pavilion at Hopkins Landing on Lake Talquin.
The event, co-hosted by the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with Gadsden Senior Services, Gadsden Elder Affairs and the Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners, featured food, music, door prizes and vendor exhibits.
According to the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, the event drew attendees from neighboring states to the pavilion at 949 Hopkins Landing Road in Quincy.
Sheriff Morris A. Young thanked the planning committee and community partners for helping make the event possible and for honoring Gadsden County’s senior citizens.
The sheriff’s office said plans are underway to continue partnering with Gadsden County Senior Services and the Board of County Commissioners to host the event at different locations across the county to encourage broader participation among seniors.
A sign displayed during the event thanked community supporters and donors, noting that $13,242 was raised in support of the annual Senior Fun Day.
