Gadsden County News Service After 32 years in their home, Deloye and Toni Henry have transformed their property into a vibrant, colorful retreat — earning them the title of Residential Yard of the Month for July.
The couple, who live at 39 Audubon Drive in the Tallavana neighborhood, took on a full landscaping overhaul following the devastation of Hurricane Michael, which uprooted 19 trees on their property. In the aftermath, the Henrys reimagined their outdoor space, replacing the downed trees with layers of vivid plant life.
Their front yard is carefully arranged with distinct color zones featuring golden obelia, mahonia, and coleus. Out back, hibiscus line the fence, and cheerful pots filled with blooming flowers brighten the patio. The attention to detail and care shows the couple’s deep love for their home and the many hours they’ve spent cultivating it.
While visiting the Henrys, the yard committee also took note of the welcoming entrance to Tallavana, where resident Linda Rabon has been tending to potted plants at the front gates. Her efforts, paired with festive Fourth of July banners, create a bright and patriotic entryway for neighbors and visitors alike.
