West Gadsden Historical Society’s annual chicken pilau this weekend

The West Gadsden Historical Society will host a chicken pilau supper this weekend to help raise money for its community historical preservation projects – ongoing repairs and improvements at the Greensboro Depot Railroad Museum, tours and events at the restored Dezell House, identifying and marking local historical sites and much more.
The annual fundraiser is from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. (or until plates sold out), this Saturday, January 26, at the Greensboro Depot Railroad Museum, 115 Duffle Avenue, Greensboro. Plates are $8 and can be purchased at the event. Tickets will not be sold prior.
In addition to the authentic southern chicken-and-rice supper, this year’s event will include a preview sale of the historical society’s large March estate sale. The preview sale will feature a selection of “one of a kind antiques and vintage items,” all of which can be viewed at the Patricia Fletcher Vice meeting facility, on the depot grounds. Proceeds from the sale will fund needed repairs at the Greensboro depot, a historical society news release states.
