Wheels, worship, and community: Bear Creek launches new initiatives

Dr. Deborah Thigpen

QUINCY, Fla. — Bear Creek Bethel Cultural Center for Change (BCBCCC), an outreach arm of Bear Creek Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, continues to move Gadsden County residents forward through innovative programs rooted in service, faith, and cultural enrichment.

On Sunday, August 17, Pastor Terrence Milton led “Wheels and Boots at The Creek”, a spirited worship service designed to welcome men and women who ride motorcycles and drive hot trucks. The event recognized these groups for their leadership and contributions to the community. Much like civic clubs, motorcycle clubs foster brotherhood/sisterhood, provide support networks, and promote safety. Clubs from as far as Cairo, Georgia, and the Top of the Line Ryderz of Tallahassee attended, lending their presence to support BCBCCC’s fundraising efforts. Pastor Milton emphasized the theme “Real Men Worship the Lord Unashamed,” a message that resonated with the riders and inspired plans to make the service an annual event.

Looking ahead, The Creek is preparing to host two significant community gatherings:

  • Law Enforcement, Civic Leaders, Elected Officials, and First Responders Program
Scheduled for Sunday, August 24, at 3 p.m., this inaugural service will honor those who dedicate their lives to protecting and leading the community. Pastor Paxton Rogers and the congregation of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church will lead the service, highlighting unity between the church and local civic leaders. • Women in Red Program
On Saturday, September 6, at 3 p.m., the church will host the Third Annual Women in Red service, led by Pastor Marilyn Barnes of New Direction Christian Center. Women are invited to dress in red, symbolizing the blood of Jesus, courage, strength, and passion. The event promises to fill the sanctuary with an atmosphere of joy, empowerment, and spiritual renewal. Contact Mother Ann Gainous (850) 856-2456.
