Chattahoochee Main Street celebrates service and support at annual banquet

Chattahoochee Main Street held its Annual Volunteer, Member, and Sponsor Appreciation Banquet on September 18 at the Florida State Hospital Recreation Center.

The Hawaiian-themed event gathered Chattahoochee Main Street members, volunteers, sponsors, and local leaders for an evening recognizing contributions to the organization’s downtown revitalization and community programming efforts.

Keika McMillan, Director of Volunteer Services for Florida State Hospital, delivered the keynote address. McMillan spoke on the importance of volunteering, collaboration among community groups, and civic engagement in Chattahoochee.

Awards presented during the banquet included:

  • Volunteers of the Year: Mike Wheaton and Beth Merryfield
  • Junior Volunteers of the Year: Lily McDaniel, Luke Bell, and Sarahjane Baxley
  • Outstanding Supporter of the Year: Dusty Treasures, represented by Danielle Edenfield, David Pippin, and Julie Harrison

All attendees were recognized for their ongoing support of Chattahoochee Main Street’s initiatives.

Local officials and community leaders attending the banquet included Dan Paasch, Regional Director for U.S. Senator Ashley Moody; Gadsden County Commissioner Shawn Wood; Chattahoochee City Councilwoman Ann Williams; and Chattahoochee City Manager Robert Presnell.

The event underscored the partnership between city leadership and Chattahoochee Main Street’s volunteer-driven efforts.
