The 2026 Lake 38 Pro-Am brought professional and amateur waterskiers to Gadsden County for two days of slalom competition Sept. 12-13.
The competition was held at Lake 38, located at 5049 Point Milligan Road near Quincy. The event included men’s and women’s professional slalom competitions, along with amateur competition.
Skiers representing 13 countries were expected to participate in this year’s event, according to information released before the tournament by Visit Gadsden County. Competitors ranged from youth participants to senior skiers.
Canadian skier Charlie Ross won the men’s professional slalom competition, clearing five buoys at 10.25 meters in the final. Jaimee Bull, also of Canada, won the women’s division after clearing one buoy at 10.25 meters.
Regina Jaquess finished second in the women’s competition, while Allie Nicholson placed third.
Professional skiers competed in two preliminary rounds Saturday, with the top eight men and top eight women advancing to the finals Sunday based on their best scores.
The Waterski Pro Tour listed $12,000 in prize money for each of the men’s and women’s professional slalom competitions. First place in each division carried a $4,000 prize.
Lake 38 has hosted sanctioned waterski competitions for several years. International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation records list competitions at the site dating to 2016 and Lake 38 Pro-Am events beginning in 2019.
The Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners supported the event. In a social media post after the competition, the county said the tournament attracted visitors to the area and thanked the athletes, organizers, officials, volunteers, sponsors and spectators who participated.
