Eloise Presnell Joyner

Eloise Presnell Joyner, 82, of Quincy Florida, passed away on September 23,2025 after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. Born on April 9,1943, in Quincy, she was the daughter of the late Odell and Thelma Lewis Presnell.
Eloise was a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend whose love for life left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She was married to Robert “Bobby” Joyner in 1959, and together they raised two children, Trina Joyner and Bradley Joyner.
She was employed by the Quincy telephone company, where she worked for 17 years and later retired from the State of Florida. She also took to the open road as a semi-truck driver–a remarkable role at a time when few women were behind the wheel.
A proud 33-year breast cancer survivor, Eloise lived with courage, humor, and a deep love for her family. She brought people together with her generous spirit, hosting many memorable Halloween parties for families of Robert F. Munroe Day School and organizing the cherished Lewis family Easter dinners for her large extended family. During the holidays, she was known for hand-delivering her famous divinity candy to local businesses–a gesture that brought smiles year after year.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert “Bobby” Joyner; her children Trina Joyner and Bradley Joyner (Melanie); her grandchildren, Eric Harvey (Kristina), Jessica Joyner Stevenson (Ian), Miller Joyner (Maggie); her brother Terry Presnell (Julie); sister-in-law Beth Presnell; a great grandchild Bailey Harvey and a wide circle of nieces and nephews who will deeply miss her laughter, warmth, and fun she brought to every gathering.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Rod Presnell.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17 at 11 a.m. at New Philadelphia Presbyterian Church, 746 S. Adams St. Quincy, FL.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in the name of Eloise.
