Gadsden County Public Schools maintained an overall district grade of C for the 2025-26 school year, according to school and district grades t released by the Florida Department of Education.
The annual accountability grades measure student achievement, learning gains, graduation rates, acceleration success and the performance of the lowest 25% of students on statewide assessments. Schools also must test at least 95% of eligible students to receive a grade.
Gadsden County was one of 10 Florida school districts to earn a C this year. Statewide, 34 districts received an A, 23 earned a B and 10 received a C. No districts earned a D or F.
Although Gadsden County maintained its overall C district grade, the district earned 55% of the state’s accountability points, ranking 66th among Florida’s 67 school districts, according to Florida Department of Education data. Only DeSoto County scored lower at 53%.
Individual school grades across Gadsden County reflected a mix of steady performance, improvement and decline.
Gadsden County’s 2025-26 school grades are:
- Crossroad Academy Charter School — B
- Gadsden Elementary Magnet School — A
- Gadsden County High School — C
- George W. Munroe Elementary School — C
- Greensboro Elementary School — D
- Havana Magnet School — C
- James A. Shanks Middle School — C
- Stewart Street Elementary School — C
- West Gadsden Middle School — C
Gadsden Elementary Magnet School remained the district’s highest-performing traditional public school with an A grade, while Crossroad Academy Charter School continued to earn a B.
Most of the district’s schools received C grades, indicating they met the state’s performance standards but have opportunities for improvement. Greensboro Elementary School experienced the district’s largest change, falling from an A in 2024-25 to a D this year.
Among neighboring districts, Leon County maintained its B rating, Wakulla County remained an A district, and Franklin and Jefferson counties each improved from a C to a B.
The Florida Department of Education releases school and district grades annually to provide families, educators and communities with a snapshot of academic performance and student progress across the state.
