Gadsden County man found guilty of sexual battery

A Gadsden County jury has found a local man, Terry L. Williams, guilty of two charges of sexual battery by a familial or custodial authority, and one case of lewd/lascivious molestation.

According to the court documents provided by the office of the State Attorney in Florida’s Second Judicial Circuit (which serves Gadsden County), Williams was arrested by the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office after Williams’ victim reported years of sexual abuse by Williams.

The document states that Williams provided a father-like role in the victim’s life.

The trial had a total of eight witnesses, six for the state, one for the defense, and one member of law enforcement.

Williams’ trial was held on February 8, and the jury deliberated for an hour before returning with a guilty verdict.

Williams will be listed on the state’s sexual predator roster, and his sentening date has been set to March 1.

Judge Robert Wheeler presided over this trial.
