Last week Colonel Robert Barkley spoke to a group of Gadsden High Students about the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office Substance Abuse and the Mental Health Grant programs. The programs are in conjunction with the Mental Health and Substance Abuse state initiative led by Casey DeSantis’(Governor’s wife).
Also on the panel were Gadsden County School Board members, DJJ, Gadsden County Health Department, Mrs. Daniels from MADD; who shared personal stories on her loss and the impact of Alcohol and Drugs abuse and how it affects the brain that resulted in death, sexual abuse and the long term trauma.
