Every Saturday is a family day at Gadsden Arts

Looking for fun over the holidays, or on any weekend? Every Saturday, the Gadsden Arts Center & Museum offers hours of family fun, admission-free for families!

Start in our ArtZone and let your creativity take over! This walk-in studio has new activities every

month based on current exhibitions that include painting, collage, printmaking, and more.

One parent who visited the ArtZone said, “I appreciate how I could include the whole family

in the museum experience, even my 9-month-old who likes to watch her brother paint.”

Great museum experiences create lasting memories for every family.

Next, try the Visual Scavenger Hunt, exploring local to international works of art throughout the museum to find clues. Once you find all of the clues, visit the Visitor Services desk and receive your free prize!

Then relax and read as a family in the Reading Corner, presented by the National Hook-up of Black Women – Gadsden Chapter. This is part of their “Reading For Life” initiative, which provides free reading materials to children and families in Gadsden County.

Children of all ages can enjoy reading with their favorite adults.

All children can end their day by taking a free book from the Reading Corner, and a free Art @ Home Kit from Sandy’s Art Chest, home with them! Gadsden Arts hopes all children who visit will continue reading and creating at home.

Gadsden Arts donors, sponsors, and partners make these programs possible. Saturday Family Days are presented by Centennial Bank, Art@Home Kits sponsor TDS Telecom, Art for Children sponsor Bell &  Bates Home Center, and Reading Corner partner, the National Hook-up of Black Women-Gadsden.

Gadsden Arts is located at 13 N. Madison Street, Quincy and is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m.– 5 p.m. The ArtZone is open every Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4:30 pm. Our Visual Scavenger Hunt and Reading Corner are available all day.

Exhibition admission is free for all museum members, children aged 17 and under, families visiting the ArtZone, and children’s groups, and $5 for adult non-members. Guided tours can be reserved by calling 850-627-5023. Information www.gadsdenarts.org.
