Havana American Legion recognizes outstanding town employees

During the last meeting of the Havana Town Council, two employees of the city were recognized by Havana’s American Legion Post 84 for their service to the community.

The first, Don Harris, was not present at the meeting to receive his certificate of appreciation from the legion, but Town Manager Kendrah Wilkerson received the award on Harris’ behalf.

The post’s James Brennan presented the award, saying it was granted to Harris in recognition of their sincere appreciation for his support to the Town of Havana and its citizens.

The next recognition went to Havana Police Officer Khang Bui.

“This certificate of appreciation goes to Lieutenant Khang Bui,” said Brennan. “This is awarded for outstanding public service in the community, state, and nation.”

Lieutenant Bui, along with his family, were present at the meeting.

“We like to recognize outstanding individuals,” said Brennan. “This is one of our civic duties. We recognize those who distinguished themselves within their job.”
