In 2018, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee of Chattahoochee, Florida, Inc. (MLK, Jr. Committee) initiated a groundbreaking program aimed at enhancing the long-term viability of local businesses in the City of Chattahoochee.
The program, called the Support our LOcal Businesses Initiative – commonly referred to as the nationwide “S.L.O.B. Initiative” – was created to assist the community with economic development and business support. To this end, the MLK, Jr. Committee selects a “Business of the Month” to honor every month.
Once the honoree businesses have been chosen, the committee encourages the community to patronize them throughout the month and year-round.
“With this level of increased support and attention from the community, local businesses are better poised to grow and expand within the city, thereby enhancing the overall quality of life for local residents,” MLK, Jr. Committee officials said in a statement.
