Pirates leave rivals scoreless

The Sneads High School Pirates continued their merciless pillaging and plundering spree this past week on softball and baseball diamonds around the region.

Neither the Sneads High School boys’ varsity baseball team nor the girls’ varsity softball team have suffered a single loss between them since March 1, when the boys fell to Liberty County, 3-1, and the girls lost to Belleview, 5-3.

The Pirate softball squad has been particularly ferocious, shutting down team after team after team over the past week. The gritty Pirates stopped their last three opponents from putting a single point on the board, as the girls beat Graceville 11-0, Chiles 2-0 and Cottondale 6-0 in back-to-back-to-back matchups.

Prior to their most recent shutdown streak, the Sneads squad allowed only a single point from Altha.

Tonight, Thursday, March 14, the 8-2 Pirates travel to Bonifay to take on the 8-4 Holmes County Blue Devils in what is sure to an exciting clash.

Although they haven’t left their last several rivals scoreless, the Sneads baseball team’s prowess so far this season is nothing to balk at. The varsity boys are undefeated in the region and are enjoying an impressive 4-2 record as they go into tomorrow’s non-conference matchup against the undefeated Florida State High Seminoles.
