Quincy Porchfest is back for a 12th year

Quincy PorchFest is back.

Spend the day in Quincy, Florida, Saturday March 16, strolling the beautiful historic district and enjoy the music of nineteen of North Florida’s best groups playing on porches and other venues throughout the downtown district.

Enjoy a delicious lunch at one of Quincy’s locally-owned restaurants, or sweets from several bakeries and ice cream shops. Even spend the night at one of the historic bed and breakfast inns— the Millhouse Inn or the McFarlin House Bed and Breakfast.

Quincy Porchfest is a free music festival held annually in the historic downtown district of Quincy. It is modeled after Porchfests held across the United States and in Canada, the first being held in Ithaca, New York in 2007. Quincy Porchfest, founded in 2012 by local drummer Walter Kelleher, was the first festival of its kind held in the State of Florida.

Quincy Porchfest’s unique way of presenting musical performances encourages people of all ages to get outdoors, stroll through the beautiful downtown Quincy historic district and enjoy music.

The performances are located close together so the audience can easily walk, ride bikes, scooters, or use other mobility devices to reach each venue.

The audience is encouraged to bring pop-up chairs or blankets for a more enjoyable experience. A map and list of performances is printed on an old-fashioned hand fan and available at each location for free. The map and schedule are also available on the Quincy Main Street website.

QR Codes are placed at each venue to guide visitors to the various locations.

The musicians perform on porches of historic homes and buildings and other venues in Quincy’s downtown historic district throughout the day.

The festival is geared towards all ages and cultures, with diverse musical tastes. A wide variety of music is offered — from Americana to Zydeco, Latin, jazz, folk, blues, pop, Funk, R&B, and rock.

This year’s artists are Latin Soul Orchestra, Tocamos Mas, Ben Flournoy Trio, Jerry Thigpen Trio,

Brett Wellman & Stone Cold Blues, Pharaohs of Funk, Thursday Night Music Club, Hot Mess, Billy

Rigsby Band, Reese Cloud Quartet, Deja Blu, Hot Tamale, Del Suggs, The Frank Craig Band, Ronnie

Randolph, Rachel Hillman, Anna Wescoat, Chris James, and the Tallahassee Uke Jammers.

Quincy’s downtown restaurants Bantam Bay, Big Papa’s Chophouse, QDogs and Cream, and CJ’s Kitchen and Catering will be open for lunch. Big Papa’s Chophouse will be open for dinner as well.

Adult beverages can be purchased at Bantam Bay, Monterrey Cigar Social, and LRs Sports Bar.

The festival is organized and managed by Quincy Main Street, Inc. with funding from the Florida Division of Arts and Culture.

The festival is presented by Trulieve, and May Nursery. The festival is also sponsored by Climate Control, Hinson Oil, the City of Quincy, and Gadsden County.
