Regional Unemployment Rate Announced for January 2023 – CareerSource Capital Region to host Recruitment Event for McDonald’s

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity recently announced the regional unemployment rate for Gadsden, Leon, and Wakulla counties was 2.7 percent for January 2023.

According to a press release from CareerSource, the region’s January 2023 unemployment rate was 1.2 percentage points lower than the region’s year ago rate of 3.9 percent.

Wakulla County’s unemployment rate remained the lowest in the Capital Region at 2.3 percent, Leon County followed at 2.7 percent, and Gadsden County was at 3.5 percent.

There was a total of 5,305 unemployed residents in the Capital Region, the press release says.

The top six advertised occupations in the Capital Region in January 2023 were as follows:

• Registered Nurses

• Software Developers, Applications

• Managers, All Other

• Retail Salespersons

• Sales Representatives, Wholesale & Manufacturing, Except Technical and Scientific Products

• First-Line Supervisors of Retail Sales Workers

This upcoming recruitment event for McDonald’s is an incredible opportunity for people to gain leadership training with an internationally known company and enhance their essential skills that every company needs in a quality employee.”

The McDonalds recruitment event will be held on Tuesday, March 14 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the McDonald’s located at 3631 Mahan Drive in Tallahassee.
