It’s rare that Floridians experience a white Christmas, and 2019 proved no exception.
Not “white,” perhaps, but for young patients at Studer Family Children’s Hospital in Pensacola, at least, this past Christmas was as colorful as they come – thanks in large part to the Chattahoochee Lions Club. On December 21, members of the local community service organization dropped by the Studer Children’s Hospital, bearing the multi-hued fruits of their 2019 “Krayons for Kids” campaign.
Local Lions distributed crayon boxes by the score – as well as a few other “special treats” – to the young hospital residents, aiming to add a splash of color and fun to an otherwise dull, dreary holiday amid sterile hospital environs. The gesture represented the culmination of months of collecting crayons from a benevolent community. According to Chattahoochee Lions Club officials, “Krayons for Kids” was one of the group’s most successful service projects of 2019.
“The Chattahoochee Lions Club expresses a heartfelt thanks to those in our community who donated to this campaign,” a Lions Club news release states.
